    Comrade Petrosyan G.N. is one of the leading specialists in our country in the field of reclamation of soda salt marshes. He has about 100 published scientific papers on the genesis of soda solonetzes, solonchaks, the development of methods for reclamation and activities intended for the day of their agricultural use. Under the leadership of Comrade Petrosyan G.P. institute, for 25 years 7 doctoral and about 40 master's theses were defended, some of which were prepared with his active consultations.

On the initiative and direct guidance of Comrade Petrosyan G.P. at the Armenian Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry for specialists from Asia, Africa and Latin America, international courses on the problem of "Irrigated Land Reclamation" were held.

    Due to the fact that in land-poor Armenia the development of saline soils and their introduction into active agricultural circulation is of particular importance, and also given the absence of highly qualified specialists in the republic of this profile, the need for which is constantly growing, we ask for your petition to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized education of the USSR on the provision of comrade. Petrosyan G.P. the right to supervise graduate students and applicants in the specialty "Melioration and irrigated agriculture" (06.01.02).
